atmos Grip Swany ASICS GT-2160

0

atmos‘ ride in the past quarter century has been a twisty one; taking the streetwear imprint and retailer far from home as it expanded into the US market and beyond, contracting as the pandemic shuttered brick & mortar storefronts around the globe. It’s also included stops at nearly every major player in footwear, from Nike to New Balance. With 2025 naturally marking their 25th anniversary, the brand is sticking to a frequent recent partner,  joining hands with ASICS and bringing in a third partner for the atmos x Grip Swany x ASICS GT-2160.

This first teaser image showcases a durable, utility-minded take on the GT-2160, utilizing two-tone laces with a bungee closure. The yellow chords running from the heel to the toe imbue “at work” aesthetics, very much aligned with Grip Swany’s overall mission as an outdoors brand. Note that while they haven’t come across our radar before, the imprint has taken to footwear on a few occasions before, taking on the Timberland EuroHiker on their own accord and linking up with Crocs, once again with the help of atmos.

atmos’ collaborative work was already numerous in 2024, but with creative director Hirofumi Kojima explicitly packaging this as the start of their 25th anniversary, 2025 will be packed with their product once again. Concrete release info for the atmos x Grip Swany x ASICS GT-2160 is unclear at the time of writing, but we’ll likely get concrete details in short order. For now, check out the teaser image included below.

Air Jordan 1 Low “Dark Pony” HF3148-102

0

Air Jordan 1 fans have an unceasing calendar ahead of them: the OG and OG-adjacent Jordan 1 “Bred,” Jordan 1 “Black Toe Reimagined,” Jordan 1 “UNC Reimagined” all arrive alongside a naturally dense slate surrounding them. With those pairs prompting some tough budgeting decisions, the price-point accessibility of the Jordan 1 Low has never been more in-need, and offering up a classy twist like the “Dark Pony” colorway at hand does is only the icing on the cake.

Jordan Brand doesn’t reinvent the wheel with this shoe, utilizing the standard “Chicago” style color-blocking and spotlighting a refined shade that straddles the line between burgundy and brown. While the street-style meets formalwear application is clear for adults, this shoe also arrives in Grade School sizing bearing the same exact arrangement, perhaps a way to split the difference between full dress-up and all-day athletic wear.

Anticipate the Air Jordan 1 Low “Dark Pony” releasing in the coming weeks — adult sizing will be on offer for $130, while GS pairs will command a $100 retail price. Keep an eye on our Jordan Release Dates 2025 page for word on when/if a concrete release date emerges.

Sticking with the Jumpman, tap in for the latest on the Black Cat 3s and Black Cat 4s as they establish themselves as defining 2025 drops.

Nike Kobe 5 “Year Of The Mamba” Red 2025

0

Timing for the Kobe Brand could not be better as 2025 marks the Year Of The Snake on the Chinese zodiac calendar. With the connection between the Eastern tradition and Kobe’s alter ego, the storytelling possibilities are rich and plentiful, and Nike’s keen on delivering that message immediately with the Kobe 5 “Year Of The Mamba”.

Not one, but two colorways of the updated Protro model are hitting stores in January; it starts with the purple “Eggplant” colorway on January 9th, followed by this University Red pair on January 18th. With the richness of the red and regal aesthetic produced by the gold, this second version speaks more to the Chinese philosophy.

Again, an official release date is confirmed for January 18th, 2025; the shoes will be available in Adult ($190) and Grade School ($120) sizes and will include a red/gold dust-bag as well as a special “Year of the Mamba” shoe-box. See the official store list ahead for the latest.

ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 Birch 1203A537-200

The trending ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 is looking to carry its run of dominance into 2025 with new colorways, this new “Metallic Birch” edition being the Japanese brand’s latest.

Every Kayano 14 gets met with pretty considerable demand, but colorways that rely on a pairing of cream and metallics have proven to be among the model’s most popular. Much like the recently-previewed “Oyster” colorway, this latest pair lends a contemporary feel through tasteful pops of cream on the base and midsole. The titular, champagne-esque “Metallic Birch” color introduces itself on the heel overlay and GEL cushioning capsules, while the primary overlays up top clean up in quintessential silver and black.

The “Metallic Birch” GEL-Kayano 14 is available now via the ASICS and select retailers, commanding the usual $150 MSRP. See official images below and take advantage of the purchase links in our “Where To Buy” section to cop yours.
