With Joe Freshgoods’ “Aged Properly” mission now within the rear-view mirror, the New Stability 992 resurgence is formally underway. We’re getting all of the “core” colorways, extra collaborations with acquainted companions like KITH, and for our functions; new kinds by NB artistic director and Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis. This “Mushroom” version is certainly one of them.
The design aligns with newly-unveiled 997 and 990v6 colorways with a palette of “Mushroom/Moonrock,” sustaining a well-known, tonal aesthetic whereas asserting uniqueness texture swaps. Nubuck, bushy suede, and easy suede paneling wrap a mesh base, accentuated by reflective New Stability logos on either side. Many of the design favors the gray “Moonrock” hue, with titular “Mushroom” taking part in a supporting function on the tongue and heel. Honing in on these areas, the cut-out tongue window options horizontal traces versus the usual artificial underlay.
